La Réunion : The "Bourbon" Island

In Indian Ocean, coconut palms, beaches of fine sand, the turquoise blue water of the lagoon and the coral reef are only a front taste of the wealth which offers the island of Reunion. This small end of France surprises by its variety of landscapes, fauna and flora to seduce better its privileged visitors. Under these latitudes, the discovery of the island and its crossed peoples makes it "intense".

Particularity : The vanilla Bourbon is an integral part of past and of the heritage of Reunion. Real symbol of the island, the introduction of the vanilla Bourbon was made in 1819 by the commander Pierre - Henri Philibert. Today, in Saint André, on the east coast of the island of Reunion, the House of the Vanilla, situated on an ancient plantation, redraws the history and the culture of this precious orchid.
